Dump truck services
in Niagara
Tri-axle dump trucks with DZ-licensed drivers, dispatched to job sites across the Niagara Region through one desk in St. Catharines. Trucks are dispatched 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; one or two trucks can usually be covered on short notice. Cameron's has been putting dump trucks on Niagara sites since 1951.
Dispatch is (905) 988-5454. The office answers Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
What the service is
Cameron's is a dump truck brokerage. It no longer owns or operates trucks; it dispatches them from a roster of owner-operators and fleets based in Niagara and the surrounding area, and builders have called the same number for trucks for 75 years. A company that needs trucks on a site calls with the count, the site, the start and the duration, and Cameron's puts tri-axle dump trucks there.
Every truck on the roster is required to have a DZ-licensed driver, the owner's own commercial insurance, and WSIB clearance or a WSIB letter of exemption. The site deals with one dispatch desk for the whole order.
If you searched for dump truck rental
Equipment rental hands you a machine and a contract; you supply the driver, the insurance and the fuel. A brokered dump truck arrives with its driver and insurance, and its owner holds WSIB clearance or a letter of exemption. You book the trucks and the days.
What the trucks do
Most of the work is four kinds of job: aggregate deliveries, commercial site prep, road reconstruction, and excess soil hauled off to approved disposal sites. Tri-axles move gravel, stone and excavated soil between the active site, the quarry and the disposal site. Screened grindings and aggregates are delivered by the truckload the same way, through the same desk, and asphalt grindings are hauled to and from sites.
What that looks like town by town, with the disposal sites and the local rules, is on the city pages: St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland and Grimsby, and on the service-area page for the rest of the Region.
What a call needs
Five things, and dispatch can work with an estimate on any of them:
- Trucks
- How many. Dispatch matches the truck to the load.
- Site
- The address, or the nearest intersection if there is no civic address yet.
- Start
- The day and the time the first load has to land.
- Duration
- A day, a week, or a run across a multi-week program.
- Material
- What is being hauled, in or out.
Dispatch confirms the site, the material and the count, and puts the job against the roster. The request form reaches the same desk with the same five questions, though the phone is faster.
Trucks and what they carry
Jobs run on tri-axle dump trucks, which carry aggregate and bulk earth and typically 20 to 22 metric tonnes a load. How many yards a load is depends on the material, so call dispatch with the material and the site for a rate.
Where the trucks go
The whole Niagara Region and Dunnville, from one desk: St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland, Thorold, Grimsby, Lincoln, Port Colborne, Fort Erie, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Pelham, Wainfleet, West Lincoln and Dunnville. The roster is based in Niagara and the surrounding area, so the truck is rarely far from the site.

Questions people ask
- How many yards does a dump truck hold?
- It depends on the material. A tri-axle dump truck carries 20 to 22 metric tonnes, and a load of stone and a load of topsoil reach that weight at different volumes. Call dispatch with the material and the site for a rate, or see how much a truck holds.
- Is this dump truck rental?
- No. Every truck is required to have its own DZ-licensed driver, the owner's commercial insurance and WSIB clearance or a letter of exemption. You book the trucks and the days, and Cameron's dispatches them.
- Can I get a dump truck on short notice?
- One or two trucks can usually be covered on short notice. Larger orders need as much notice as you can give, because committed jobs are covered first. Dispatch runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Are the trucks insured and the drivers licensed?
- Yes. Every truck on the roster is required to have a DZ-licensed driver, the owner's own commercial insurance, and WSIB clearance or a WSIB letter of exemption. Cameron's dispatch is the single point of contact for every truck on the site.
- Is there a minimum job?
- No. Jobs run by the day, and one truck for one day is a job if dispatch can cover it. Larger orders need notice because committed jobs are covered first.
- How is a job billed?
- Trucking is priced by the hour. Cameron's bills weekly, and payment terms are agreed before the first truck is dispatched.
